For our necessary annual vacation, we decided to not road trip up to Glacier, but instead visit some friends and family in Sunny California. So glad we did! It was great seeing Aunt Claudia and Alan and getting the Hollywood tour from the locals. And eating amazing Mexican at El Cholo! yummm. Then we stayed with Emily, my lifelong bestie from kindergarden. She is officially alive and well after two surgeries for a ruptured appendix x 10 days! We also got to hang with Bethany, a good friend from Austin, and have the best burgers of our lives at Umami. We just happened to run into Nick Offerman, aka Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec, at a cafe. Best celeb sighting ever! NBD. Then we took and survived the Grey Hound bus to San Diego to meet up with Rita, an old Austin roommate and fellow Hoosier, and her family. We helped them move into their new home and chased around their "busy" two year old, Max. We got to go to the famous zoo and run on the beach and play in the waves. We also were able to check out Old Town, the Gas Lamp district, and Little Italy (my favorite due to the cannoli, of course.) We loved catching up with so many friends and now need a vacation from our vacation to rest!
