We had a "free" weekend (free is in quotes because with me in school, there is always something that I should be doing or reading and never will be really free until I get licensed next year, God willing.) We had a Groupon for a rafting trip out at Flaming Gorge which is on the eastern border of Utah, near Colorado. We arrived a few hours before sunset at the southern end of the reservoir and went to the over hang which is beautiful. Then after the suggestion from some kids, we drove over the damn and set up camp at Mustang Ridge and went cliff jumping near our campsite. The water was frigid! The next day, we went rafting down the Green River. It was a class II, aka lazy river. It was beautiful flowing through the Gorge with all the ginormous Utah trout, passing all the fisherman, and the sun reflecting off the canyon walls. Ovreall, a very peaceful day and a check off the Utah bucket list. Our drive home was uneventful except for all the haze and smoke from the fires in the nearby mountains. Lord, we need rain!!
| We finally busted out the hammock that we got as a wedding gift! It is amazing. |
| My fluppy hat |
Loved running through the rain to buy you that hat...
